A Helping Hand for the Public
On September 3, 2020, the American University of Health Sciences Foundation (AUHS Foundation) donated back to school supply tote bags to 310 disadvantaged and low-income elementary school students to prepare and enhance their educational learning for the new school year. AUHS Foundation would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Kayne Anderson Rudnick Wealth Advisors for their generous support of the “Backing Our Future” school supplies program for the past 3 years. The tote bags included essential items such as composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, filler paper, crayons, colored pencils, markers, whiteboards with dry erase markers and erasers, folders, rulers, and pencil pouches with various writing instruments. AUHS Foundation also donated $50 grocery gift cards to 150 families facing food insecurity. School supply and grocery gift card recipients came from Smith Elementary School, Lafayette Elementary School, Whittier Elementary School, and Long Beach Center for Community Health (Promotoras). As a Christian-centered non-profit community organization, AUHS Foundation is thankful to God and His glory for providing essentials to those in need, and for guiding American University of Health Sciences students to action by volunteering to pack school supplies. AUHS Foundation is continuously dedicated to giving back to the surrounding communities and strives to be a center of excellence for homeless and poverty outreach.
